Although apatite is perhaps not as well known as other gemstones, it is an abundant mineral found in many places around the world.
Apatite is a relatively soft stone so it is best suited to earrings and pendants where it is less likely to face abrasion. It is very sensitive to acids, so it is important to avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, detergents and alcohol.
Although it does need to be treated with extra care, the bold colours of apatite make it very appealing. We would recommend cleaning your apatite with plain lukewarm water and drying with a soft cloth. We also recommend storing your apatite jewellery carefully to avoid it being scratched by other gems and jewellery.
